Excuse me!

“Then they came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus” (John 12:21 NKJV).

This question was asked by some Greeks who visited Jerusalem during the Passover. They were not Jews, but they understood that the God of Israel is the only true God (John 17:3; 1 Tim 6:15-16). Therefore, they had come to Jerusalem to get a glimpse of the Living God. Well, lo and behold, they happened to come at the right time, that is, when God in the flesh, Jesus Christ, walked among men (John 1:14). God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34-35; Rom 2:11). The Bible promises that all those who seek Him with all their heart will find Him (Deut 4:29; Prov 8:17b; Jer 29:13).

In my youth, I travelled all over the world using various means of transportation such as airplanes, busses and trains. I was so hungry for God that whenever I saw a person with a cross around their neck or someone reading the Bible, I usually tapped them on their shoulder and asked; excuse me, I wish to see Jesus. Can you help me? What can you tell me about salvation, the Christian faith and the Word of God? I met many people with various ideas about God. Unfortunately, not all answers were equally good. However, God, in His faithfulness, always led me right based on my spiritual hunger. So, let us keep asking, seeking and knocking. He will not disappoint us (Luke 11:9-10).
