Grievous Groaning and Great Glory
“Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the Lord binds up the bruise of His people And heals the stroke of their wound” (Isa 30:26 NKJV).
Over the years, my ministry has brought me to at least forty different countries. They all have their scenic places. I have seen untouched mountain lakes, gorgeous waterfalls, blooming fields, spectacular sunrises over the ocean as well as deserts turning red at sunset. As beautiful as those natural experiences can be even in this fallen world, they will pale in comparison to what will be observed in the future.
When Christ comes back, the entire creation will be restored. Nature will no longer be worshipped, but all glory and praise will be given to Him who created all things (Col 1:16). Presently, the whole creation is groaning, waiting for its deliverance (Rom 8:19-22). This is a personification, a human trait applied to an object.
Today, only 3% of the earth is fertile. The rest consists of oceans, deserts, tundra and mountain regions. “On that day”, when the creation will be restored, the whole earth will yield its fruit (Ezek 34:27). Furthermore, “on that day”, the moon will shine like the sun and the sun will shine seven times brighter. Nature itself will reflect the glory of God at least seven times more than today. What a day that will be!
